James Blunsdon
James is a composer from Oxfordshire. His main source of enjoyment stems from crafting his own instruments via sampling. This lends itself well to creating a unique palette of sounds for each project. Often his production involves the use of analogue hardware such as synths, outboard effects and tape. Whilst James has always been fond of orchestral music, he has found a love for creating alternative scores that envelop anything from 80s Synth-Pop and Lo-Fi to ethnic styles influenced by African, Eastern, Asian and Folk music. Having come from a home environment surrounded by musicians, James’ background lies in singing with chapel choirs and fronting heavy rock bands. His proudest work so far has been with Director Dylan Tyncherov (most notably for ‘Banality of Evil’). He has recently graduated from Leeds Conservatoire (BA-Hons/Film Music). James is particularly interested in scoring for films that give a voice to minorities and the LGBTQ+ community.
James finds it humorous writing about himself in 3rd person - Hey!
